This web site is here to inform anyone who has an interest in twins and multiple births. I, myself have twins (fraternal girls) and felt that I should share the knowledge that I have gained in such a short time about twins, with you!

My girls (Emma and Rebecca) were born in July 1997. I thought I was only having one child (shock enough since I was 19) At four and a half months I discovered that this bump wasn't just one but TWO babies!! How do you prepare someone when you are about to tell them that they are having twins? Goodness knows - I got the usual "are there twins in the family?" Pretty obvious what was happening!

So what's different to a singleton pregnancy then?

Twins are totally different to having just the one! Firstly, the pregnancy, you may experience double the symptoms, i.e. nausea and weight gain (I had the misfortune to get double doses of kicking and stretch marks!). Secondly, you have less time with each child but you also have double the housework therefore you will spend about a quarter of the time with one of your twins opposed to a singleton; and finally, expense - double everything, it's not hard mathematics for anyone! Cost fairly mounts up but you will soon realise that neither child needs their own clothes or toys at such a young age, despite the fact it is very hard to remember whose is whose!

I am in no way an expert on twins, I am a mother of twins who is passing on information. I hope the following pages help you in some way!!
